Blackwood Park's Open Space project, increasing biodiversity & beautify the area

Project: Blackwood Park

Blackwood Park's Open Space project continues the revegetation and remediation of the Sturt River Catchment area through the Blackwood Park development.

40,000 plants of local provenance were planted along the creek line to protect the banks against erosion, increase biodiversity and beautify the area. Fire tracks were constructed to enhance fire safety in the gorge. Bush care involved the removal of over 1000 olive trees and other woody weeds so that planting could occur.
